Bus road accident overthrow takes 18 lives in Hong Kong

18 lives were gone in a deadly road accident when a bus was taking overturn in the New Territories area. It is said that the bus was carrying spectators and workers from horse races when it overturned in the New Territories area. A really sad news that has shaken the streets of Hong Kong.

Hong Kong accident takes 18 lives

There were few passengers who had made their way out of the vehicle as quickly as possible but others who were not able to make their way were been cut out by firefighters. According to sources and reports, the bus was going too fast after which the driver of the bus was arrested and charged with dangering the life of other people.

Police spokesman Lee Chi Wai said: “The driver is now in custody and the New Territories North police department will deal with this case.” The transport facility is customarily safe in Hong Kong but fatal accidents like this are really unusual.

“The driver has a good record and knew the rules,” a representative of bus operator told the news before the driver was taken to police station for investigation of the accident that had swung in Hong Kong. More than 65 people were injured in the accident.

Carrie Lam, The Chief Executive of Hong Kong was also deeply saddened after visiting one of the 12 hospitals that were treating the injured. She told reporters that an independent investigation led by a judge would be carried out.Three women and 15 men were confirmed dead at the scene, the South China Morning Post reports, and many of the injured were in a critical condition.

This recent accident in Hong Kong is the worst one since 2003 when a double-decker fell off an elevated road after being hit by a lorry, killing 21 people where the driver was put behind the bars for seven months.

The lives of the lost people is a great loss for Hong Kong.
