Sunjwan army camp attacked in Jammu and Kashmir by terrorist group

Sunjwan army camp was attacked by Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist group in the early hours of 10th February. Sunjwan army camp is located behind the Jammu city near Board of Security Force. They have injured four people including three army men and a daughter of army personnel. The victims have been admitted to a military hospital.

The life of one soldier is very critical and is kept under emergency ward for all medicines and treatment.

According to ANI, one Army personnel was martyred in the attack.
At least 3 Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists breached the rear side of the Sunjwan camp of the 36 Army Brigade, barged into the JCO family quarters in the garrison and opened fire.

“Around 4.55am, suspicious movement was noticed by the santri. The santri bunker was fired upon and they retaliated. The number of terrorists isn’t known, they’ve been cornered in one of the family quarters. The operation is on,” Jammu IGP SD Singh Jamwal said.

Omar Abdullah has tweeted “News from Jammu & the encounter in Sunjwan is extremely disturbing. Hoping for an end to the encounter without any loss of life among the security forces & their families.”

This is a great loss for people who have their family members injured in life threatening event. People who live near the place will be frightened by the scenario.

Schools with 500 metres reached have been ask to stay closed till the time everything get sorted.The camp, which is spread over many acres of land, is located adjacent to several shopping arcades and motor showrooms, and private schools on the by-pass in the heart of Jammu city. It has been targeted for the second time during in 10 years .

Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to the J&K DGP and directed MHA officials to look into the matter.
