Courtney Walsh is probably going to remain the short-term Head Coach of Bangladesh cricket team for the series against Afghanistan starting on 3rd of June. Both the nations are expected to play three T20I in India to be played in Dehradun cricket stadium.
Bangladesh cricket has not found any suitable candidate who can replace Chandika Hathurusingha as the Head Coach of the team. Walsh, on the other hand, had a very good time with Bangladesh team taking them to the Nidahas trophy final which they played against none other than team India.
“If we cannot find any suitable head coach, those who were in the team management during the last series will continue,” Akram Khan told reporters in Mirpur on Sunday (May 13). “If we fail to rope someone as head coach then Walsh is expected to act as the head coach considering his performances in the last series.”
Sohel Islam, BCB’s development coach will be replacing Richard Halshall as the fielding coach due to his family reasons.
Bangladesh will be playing against West Indies in June and July for a couple, so to be prepared the team of tigers has begun with a preparatory camp at the Sher-e- Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.
Bangladesh will have to travel to Dehradun on May 29 to play a practice match in Rajiv Gandhi International stadium which will be held on June 1, 2018. The three T20Is are lined up on June 3, 5, and 7.
